In Hawaii in January, Smith became a record breaker when he knocked off world No.1 Jon Rahm at the Sentry Tournament of Champions. His winning total of 34-under was the lowest score ever in PGA Tour history and the win propelled him into the World Top 10 for the first time in his career.
